Cats
Looking for a lost cat? The shelter now lists animals upon impound. Go to their webpage for a listing of cats currently at the shelter!
All cats receive FVRCP vaccination (kitten shot) and basic deworming upon impound. In addition, cats are combo tested on impound; those that test positive for FeLV are not made available while those that test positive for FIV are listed as such. Most cats receive additional veterinary care while at the shelter, including rabies vaccination. Cats are microchipped and spayed or neutered prior to adoption; intact cats must be altered at the owner’s expense upon the second reclaim from the shelter.
Information about the process to adopt or rescue a shelter cat is found here and on the Athens-Clarke County website.
