Find your next best friend at Athens-Clarke County Animal Control!
Athenspets is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3 organization dedicated to helping the animals at Athens-Clarke County Animal Control find permanent homes or rescue placements and to reducing pet overpopulation in the Athens area.
About Athenspets
This is a volunteer website. Please visit the Athens-Clarke County Animal Control website for complete information about the shelter’s animals and policies. While we do our best to accurately portray each animal, we are not professionals. Please come by to meet the animals for yourself prior to adoption and bring any family members (children, other pets, etc.) with whom it is necessary for the new pet to get along so you can judge for yourself whether the particular dog or cat is a good fit for your home.
How you can help
Regardless of how much time or money you have, you can help save lives at the shelter!

You may designate how your donations will be used by selecting our Medical Fund, Spay/Neuter Fund, or General Fund. All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law!

Home Away From Home!
Sponsorship is a pledge to donate a designated amount of money to the licensed rescue group that rescues the dog or cat you select. Rescue costs for even a young and healthy pet can add up so multiple sponsorships for one animal are appreciated!
