54520 – Zena
Update 11/30: Zena has enjoyed lovin’ and treats since day one, and today she showed me how playful she can be. We had the best time playing fetch. When she’d bring the toy back, she’d earn a treat and that seemed to encourage her even more. Another volunteer had this to say about her, “Zena was a little nervous about all the barking, but once I entered her run, she was ready for some loving. She would rub her head and body against me, kinda like cats do.” Yep, that’s Zena ♥
Zena is a sweet girl. She had just been surrendered but welcomed meeting a new friend. Her former owner said she’s always been an outdoor dog but was good with the children in the home (ages 10 and 12). She’d also lived with another dog. She’s a sweetheart and enjoyed all the attention and treats I could give her. It was a big deal for her to finally scale the picnic table to sit with me. She was so proud of herself that she wagged her tail and gave me kisses. Zina has an ear infection and will be visiting the vet tomorrow. I know it had to be bothersome and maybe even uncomfortable as she was constantly shaking her head. Still, she was as good as gold and really is a nice dog. I hope she finds a loving home where she’ll be properly cared for and always loved.
