54328 – Mr. Nubs
Update 11/8: Mr. Nubs was adopted but has been returned. He’s become mouthy especially when he’s on a leash. He’s also tested positive for heartworms and is only available to rescues or a foster to adopt. While Athenspets & ACCAS will help with the cost of treatment, a rescue should be prepared for some added expense and the exercise restrictions of treatment. To learn more about preventing and treating heartworms, please go to the American Heartworm Society’s website.
Mr. Nubs is a big, handsome fellow. He walked confidently past the kennels and ignored all the barking, but when we reached the interaction pen, he jumped up with a hug. I couldn’t help but think he had been feeling nervous in his kennel and was relieved to be away from all the noise. We had to spend some time on keeping his paws on the ground, but praise and head scratches helped. Mr. Nubs needed some attention. He also seemed to like being close. He’d chase a toy but wasn’t interested in playing with it and instead would come back to be with me. Mr. Nubs is a sweet dog who really wants a friend and new home.
