Why choose me?

Update 10/16: Unfortunately, Rocket has tested positive for heartworms. While Athenspets & ACCAS will help with the cost of treatment, a rescue should be prepared for some added expense and the exercise restrictions of treatment. To learn more about preventing and treating heartworms, please go to the American Heartworm Society’s website.

When I met Rocket, I had to smile. He’s a happy dog with the cutest face and underbite. He was thrilled to meet a new friend and have a chance to stretch his legs and explore his new surroundings. He’s a big boy at 71 pounds, but I didn’t have any problems walking him on a leash. Once we were in an interaction pen, I had to remind him not to jump up and give me hugs. Instead, I had him sit with me on the picnic table, and he was content to lean against me as I petted him. Rocket also had a good time chasing stuffed toys, and while he liked treats, I couldn’t get him to sit for them. That’s okay because I’m sure he can learn lots of new skills with a new best friend. He’s a good boy ready for love and fun!
