53881 – King
Why choose me?
Update 12/28: Wow! I can’t believe King has been at the shelter since July and this is only our second update for him! I just keep thinking that someone will pick him, but it hasn’t happened. Because he can be reactive on the fenceline to some dogs, we tested him today face-to-face with Serna, a large female dog. He was great! He wiggled and playbowed nicely–I think he’d make a great companion for a friendly female dog! King has been treated for heartworms so he’s ready to find his forever family now!
Update 8/20: Unfortunately, King has tested positive for heartworms and is only available to rescues or a foster to adopt. While Athenspets & ACCAS will help with the cost of treatment, a rescue should be prepared for some added expense and the exercise restrictions of treatment. To learn more about preventing and treating heartworms, please go to the American Heartworm Society’s website.
King was the first dog I took out this morning. He was happy to see me, and I was just as happy to be with him. I loved his enthusiasm! He chased a few tennis balls but decided it was just too hot to bring them back. Sitting in the shade getting pets was probably a better choice for such a warm day. King is a sweet, friendly fellow who’ll make you smile!
