53344 – Sam
Update from Sam’s foster 5/26: We have absolutely loved having Sam come and stay with us! This sweet boy is so friendly and loves a good snuggle. He’ll wiggle his way right into your lap and tuck his head under your chin so he can be as close to you as possible.
Tail-wagging and tongue out, Sam is always excited to play. He loves a good squeaky toy and speeding after tennis balls in our back yard. While we’ve been working, he can easily keep himself entertained with a Kong full of peanut butter, but his new favorite pastime is watching the squirrels out the window.
Sam is very smart and inquisitive by nature. While here, he has been thoroughly investigating his surroundings, but is quick to leave things alone when told no or leave it. He’s very comfortable in the home and is house trained, crate trained, and well behaved on a leash (once you get it on this wiggly little pup).
We’re told he can be protective of his food bowl, so we’ve been working on hand feeding him and it’s been going really well!
He is interested in meeting other dogs when we’re out on walks but social distancing requirements have kept us from organizing puppy play dates for him.
We hope his dopey grin captures your hearts as much as it’s captured ours so he can find his furever home soon!
The shelter is closed to the public, so volunteers are unable to write stories about new dogs at this time. If you are interested in fostering, adopting, or rescuing Sam, call 706-613-3540 to discuss options with staff.
