Why choose me?

Update 3/31: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Iris is now spayed!

Update 3/30: Iris is in a foster home for a few days, and her foster says that she is awesome! She’ sleeps through the night on a blanket by the foster’s bed, is great on a leash, and is so sweet!

Update: Unfortunately, Iris has tested positive for heartworms. Athenspets will do our best to help with the cost of treatment, but an adopter or rescue should be prepared for the added cost and exercise restrictions of treatment. To learn more about heartworms, including how to treat and prevent them, please go to the American Heartworm Society’s page.

Iris is a sweet, beautiful dog. She’s recently had pups and is still carrying milk. An officer told me that they tried to find the puppies and will try again. Hopefully, the pups are safe with their owners and Iris will be reclaimed. She’s a really good dog who would sit, come, and hop up on the table for treats. She’s a happy girl though I suspect once the newness of the pound wears off, she’ll be worrying about her little ones. I hope this little family is reunited soon!
