Why choose me?

Update: Unfortunately, Persephone has tested positive for heartworms. Athenspets will do our best to help with the cost of treatment, but an adopter or rescue should be prepared for the added cost and exercise restrictions of treatment. To learn more about heartworms, including how to treat and prevent them, please go to the American Heartworm Society’s page.

Persephone is beautiful inside and out. She’s a little thin and could use a bath, but still her beauty shines. She loves treats and being close, and when we sat together, she’d put her head on my leg enjoying every scratch and pet. She wants to be loved, and she likes to please and would stay by my side and sit on command. I was also impressed with how she acted when another dog approached us. Someone had not checked to make sure Diamond’s kennel gate was latched, and she wandered out. When she saw me, she saw a friend and came to me as I was walking Persephone to an interaction pen. Both girls were friendly, and Persephone waited as I opened another interaction pen for Diamond until I could return her to her kennel. Persephone is a sweet girl, and will be a wonderful companion for whoever adopts her!
