Update 3/30: Sissy and Buddy are loving life in their foster home. Their foster says, “They are having a blast and losing weight. They are completely house broken and great company. They belong together. Someone who might not have a ton of time could feel good because they are such good friends.”
They are good with cats too!

Update: Sissy is in a temporary foster home during the coronavirus quarantine period! To learn more about this great girl or make arrangements to meet her, please call the shelter at 706-613-3540.

Sadly, Sissy and Buddy’s owner passed away, and no one in the family could take them. They had been their owner’s constant companions. Sissy was ready to come to me for pets right away, but Buddy is frightened at the pound and needed more time to trust. Eventually, I did get to pet him, and he also started taking treats from me. Both are senior dogs and love being together. When Sissy hopped up on the picnic table to sit with me, Buddy did his best to join us, but with his short legs, he couldn’t make the leap. Sissy encouraged him, and when he still couldn’t hop up, she got down to be with her friend. They are both house trained and easy to walk on a leash. The person that brought them in said that Buddy is good with children, but Sissy is a little skittish around them. They’re sharing a kennel, and Sissy will greet you with a tail wag. Buddy is nervous in a kennel, but once he’s out, he’s a happy fellow. Both are sweet dogs!
