Why choose me?

Update 4/7: Pistol and Lola were recently in a foster home together. We’ve learned that they’re house trained and can sleep through the night with no accidents. They’re also HUGE cuddlers and loved being near their foster. Lola knows how to sit, shake, focus, lay down, and bow, and Pistol knows how to sit. Their foster said Lola was more outgoing, but Pistol really blossomed. Both dogs loved meeting people on their walks but were reactive to other dogs. While Pistol and Lola don’t seem to do well with other dogs, they do love each other and had fun playing tug. The foster said that the best thing about fostering Pistol and Lola was that they were very loving and enjoyed cuddling!

Update 2/29: Pistol is available to foster! To foster him or another shelter animal, please apply here.

Update 2/25: When I had Pistol and Lola out separately, they were really sad. It broke my heart so I asked if they could be together in an interaction pen. What a change! They were thrilled to see one another and were now running about the interaction pen, playing with toys, taking treats, and happy for pets from me. They were having the best time. These two dearly love each other. They never squabbled even when Lola took Pistol’s favorite toy. They just enjoyed being together, and I enjoyed being with them!

Pistol was brought to the shelter with his sister Lola. Like Lola, Pistol is not especially fond of cats or dogs other than his sister. He too would be best suited for a household with Lola or as the only pet. Pistol is missing a leg but he does not let that slow him down! He loved to sniff around and enjoy the sights and sounds around him. He was cautious around me at first but eventually let his guard down and let me pet him as he relaxed. Come check this handsome boy out.
