Why choose me?

Herman came to the shelter on 11/18 after he was rescued from a car engine! It’s not all that unusual for a cat to climb up under a car hood, usually to keep warm while napping. Herman may even have hitched a ride (or rides) with the owner of the car, so he might actually have an owner who is missing him. We are hoping you recognize this kitty, and can alert his owner, who can reclaim him at Athens-Clarke County Animal Services.

After Herman’s stray hold time at the shelter expires, he will then be available for adoption by the public. This little man is very cuddly with humans, laid-back, and seems to love everyone. We’d bet that Herman will do well in most any home – including one with children and/or other pets, and cat-friendly dogs (if they are properly introduced, of course). If you recognize this cat, please inform his owner so he can be reclaimed – otherwise, he will be available for you to adopt after his stray hold period expires!
