Why choose me? Update from Dottie’s foster 1/5: “I have been fostering Dottie for about a month. She is a wonderful girl with a lot of energy. She loves to play with any dog she sees and has never showed any aggressive behavior. She is house and crate trained. She loves to sit on the couch and snuggle but will play tug or fetch a ball anytime. She has been around my cat and is very interested and gently. If you would like to meet Dottie please contact Athens-Clarke County Animal Services. I would love to set up a play date.”
Update 12/12: Dottie is in a shelter foster home and doing great! If you are potentially interested in adopting or rescuing Dottie, please call the shelter at 706-613-3540 so you can arrange a time to meet her.
Update 11/25: Dottie was in heat, which was affecting both her behavior and that of the other dogs at the shelter. Thanks to donors to the Athenspets Spay/Neuter Fund, she has been spayed and should shortly be back to her wonderful self!
Dottie is such a love! She’s sweet, well-behaved, and fun. She loves pets and being told that she’s a good girl, and she is. She wasn’t interested in treats but likes to please and would come, sit on command, and hop on the table to join me. Once she got to know me, she was ready to show how well she plays fetch. Dottie’s former owner said she’s house trained and good with children, other dogs, cats, and even chickens. She’s a wonderful dog with love and fun to share!
