52949 – Summer
Why choose me? Update from Summer’s fosters 4/24: We have been fostering Summer during the coronavirus outbreak, she is absolutely amazing, she’s very loving and attention, she loves following you around everywhere you go, she’s looking for her forever home. She’s super sweet and loves everyone including kids. Update: Summer is in a temporary foster home during the coronavirus quarantine period! To learn more about this great girl or make arrangements to meet her, please call the shelter at 706-613-3540. Update 1/26: Summer could really use a foster home–she’s been at the shelter for so long and really craves being close to people. To apply to foster her or another shelter animal, please complete the application found here. Update 12/27: Summer was adopted but returned. It seems she gets mouthy when excited. It makes me sad that she’s back, but hopefully, this is something that can be worked on, and she can find the right home for her. She really is a sweet dog. Update 12/20: Summer is up for whatever you want to do! She loves to play and chase toys, but she also enjoys relaxing and being loved on. She’s a sweet, beautiful girl who’s happy to be with you or can entertain herself lounging in the sun watching all that’s going on. She’s a wonderful dog, and I’m really surprised she hasn’t found her forever family! Update 11/26: Thanks to donations to the Athenspets Spay/Neuter Fund, Summer is now spayed. She is also available to foster! Summer and Autumn came in together and like to be close. With the way that Autumn was always looking out for Summer, I was under the impression that she may be her mama. Summer never meets a stranger and would plop down right next to me (or even on my foot!) to be close as she lounged in the shade. Autumn was a little more reserved and stayed under the picnic table until she felt more comfortable with me. I liked how she’d inch a little closer and poke her head out from beneath the bench just so I could give her a few pets. Summer trusts right away, but Autumn needs a little time to feel safe with new people. Both are sweet, pretty girls!
