52488 – Hachi
Why choose me?
Update 11/15: Hachi will soon be ready for his heartworm shots and would do best recovering in a home. Could you bring this great guy home for a few weeks to give him a calm and safe place to crash while he recovers? To learn more about fostering a shelter dog like Hachi, please call 706-613-3540 and ask to speak with Nicollette!
Update 10/22: Unfortunately, Hachi has tested positive for heartworms. While Athenspets will try to help with the cost of treatment, an adopter or rescue needs to be prepared to cover at least some of the expense. For more information about heartworms, including what treating them involves, please go to the American Heartworm Society’s webpage.
Hachi is a handsome, good-natured dog who liked running and stretching his legs in the interaction pen. After I let him run, I brought his pal Hunts out to join us. They were surrendered together. It seems that both can jump fences, so they need homes where they’re inside dogs or have fences they can’t jump. Hachi and Hunts don’t really play together, but they’re compadres and were happy to be with each other. They ran bumping into one another like brothers having fun. Afterwards, Hunts played with a tennis ball, and Hachi sat next to me enjoying pets and attention. He was content. Hachi is house trained and both boys are good with other dogs and kids. It would be wonderful if they could always be together, but it’s more important that they find homes where they are loved, have fun, and never want to wander again.
