Why choose me?

Update 11/13: Tina is off to a great start in her foster home! Her foster mom is able to leave her alone for several hours while she goes to classes, and Tina is just fine. She doesn’t get into things or get anxious when she’s alone. She also knows how to tuck herself into bed when she’s tired—see her adorable picture!

Update 10/1: I love Tina. All she wants is to be loved, petted, and enjoy a few treats. In return, she is obedient, sweet, and affectionate. She truly wants to please. Tina waits quietly in her kennel for someone to take her out and really brightens when someone finally does. I learned that she used to be tied-out in the yard of her former home. That probably explains why she’s sometimes unsure of other dogs though I’ve never seen a problem at the fence. I can’t imagine the life she endured and hope that a better one is waiting for her. Sweet, gentle Tina has stolen my heart.

Update 9/8: Unfortunately, Tina has tested positive for heartworms. While Athenspets will try to help with the cost of treatment, an adopter or rescue needs to be prepared to cover at least some of the expense. For more information about heartworms, including what treating them involves, please go to the American Heartworm Society’s webpage.

Tina is an incredibly sweet girl who is looking for a loving home. She enjoyed the hot summer day and sat with me in the interaction pen, occasionally finding reprieve from the heat under the picnic table. She is incredibly docile and seems like she must have lived with people before given how gentle and receptive she is to human touch. This girl deserves to find the right home and she would make a perfect companion for anyone.
