Medical Case – Heartworms 🙁
Why choose me?
Update 7/30: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Big Mama is spayed and up-to-date on her basic vaccinations!
Big Mama weighs 65 pounds, but she’s a gentle sweetie who’s frightened at the pound. She was friendly when I met her and had no problem walking with me on a leash until she neared all the barking outside. She’d been in a temporary kennel inside, and when I opened the door to go outside, she froze upon hearing the noise. A staff member carried her to an interaction pen, and Big Mama was fine as she was petted and loved on. The barking from the kennels, however, got the best of her, and she hid in the dog house. It’s understandable. She’s in a scary place, and she’s recently had puppies who are no longer with her (they suspect her litter came to the pound a week ago and was rescued). Through all of this, Big Mama never growled or barked; she just wanted to be comforted and feel safe. An officer carried her back inside, and I could see Big Mama’s tail wag. I’m told she’s been around kids, and from what I’ve seen, she’s a sweet dog. Hopefully, she’ll feel more comfortable at the pound soon, but even better, it’d be nice if she found a quiet, loving home!
