51377 – Indy
Medical Case – Heartworms 🙁
Why choose me?
Update 4/29: Indy is back at Animal Control. His foster said he was good with the two big dogs in the home but didn’t do well with the small dog. He’s a sweet boy who can sometimes forget his manners and jump up when he’s excited, but that’s definitely something that can be worked on. He loves being with people and likes to play. Hopefully, he’ll find his right match!
Update 4/21: Unfortunately, Indy has tested positive for heartworms. While Athenspets will do our best to help with the cost of his treatment, an adopter or rescue needs to be prepared for the cost and exercise restrictions that come with it. For more information about heartworms, including the treatment, please go to the American Heartworm Society’s webpage.
Update 4/17: Thanks to a special donation to the Spay/Neuter Fund Indy is now neutered and up-to-date on his basic vaccinations!
When I first saw Indy, he was so frightened he didn’t even want to go into the building. He had been seen for two days at a dumpster looking for food. Fortunately, the people that found him brought him to Animal Control where he’d be safe, fed, and cared for. It didn’t take long for Indy to settle in, and the next day when I took him out for pictures, he was ready to leave his kennel and meet new friends. He’s a sweet, friendly dog who pressed his head against my hand when I petted him. He also had a great time with Calvin at the fence. They wagged their tails, raced, and seemed to hit it off. Indy could use a little work in the walking on a leash department, but he’s got the love and fun departments covered. He’s looking for a best friend and forever home. No more dumpster diving for him!
