Why choose me?

Raisin’s sleepover update 5/8: I currently have Raisin on an overnight foster, and she wants you all to know that she is the best girl. She is looking for a forever home and/or foster who will help her during her heartworm treatment, and so far I can safely say that she is the absolute perfect house guest. Here are some facts from our afternoon adventure:
She’s a trail warrior – walks great on a leash!
She likes posing on the bridge of Oconee Forest Park.
She is a snuggler – and snorer.
Bonus – this is her literally right now as I type up this post. She is what they call a ‘plug and play’ dog. She is ready to go right now – today!
Update: she slept in a crate throughout the night – no noise, no accidents. Perfect girl! Now she’s relaxing on her favorite couch spot.

Update from Raisin’s day out at a community event 4/20: Raisin’s day out at the Hope Animal Center. She was wonderful – she met tons of people and dogs, got lots of treats, and loved on several people as well.

Update 4/5: Unfortunately, Raisin has tested positive for heartworms. While Athenspets will do our best to help with the cost of her treatment, an adopter or rescue needs to be prepared for the cost and exercise restrictions that come with it. For more information about heartworms, including the treatment, please go to the American Heartworm Society’s webpage.

Update 3/27: Raisin is a fun girl! She loves racing with like-minded dogs at the fence, but once she’s had a chance to run, she’s ready to spend time with me. She thinks squeaky toys are a great wonder, and while she’d rather keep them for her own, she will trade them for treats so I can throw them again. Raisin is a true sweetie who loves attention and doesn’t mind being my model of the day. She’s so patient as I have her trying on different outfits. Maybe it makes her feel special, and to be honest, she really is. I absolutely adore sweet, fun Raisin!

Update 3/20: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Raisin has been spayed and brought up-to-date on her basic vaccinations!

Raisin is a mild-mannered sweetie with a soft brindle coat. Her gentle ways will win your heart. She’d run to me for pets, sit quietly for treats, and say hello to whoever entered the adjoining interaction pen. Raisin and Rambler hit it off at the fence right away, and when she wasn’t with me, she was playing with him. She also had fun chasing and tossing squeaky toys. Come meet beautiful Raisin and see if she’s the sweetheart you’ve been looking for!
