Update 2/4: Thanks to a grant from the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s license plate program, Violet is spayed and up-to-date on her basic vaccinations!

When I first met Violet, the way she looked in her kennel broke my heart. It is clear that this sweet girl has not had an easy life. I saw the good samaritan that found Violet as a stray carry her into ACCAC. I went to go meet her in her pen, but she was very timid in her new surroundings. So, I sat down near her and it wasn’t long until she was letting me pet her, with her tail wagging non-stop. After gaining her trust, I was able to bring her outside to one of the big playpens. She walks very well on the leash! Poor Violet really needs to gain a few pounds, she is quite emaciated. Additionally, she is heartworm positive and so is only available to rescues until she is spayed. It made me sad that everytime I went to pet Violet, she flinched like she was scared. Please consider saving Violet, she deserves a much better life than the one she has been living. I hope one day, she will be curled up a warm couch surrounded by new toys with a family that absolutely adores her!
