50803 – Sadie
Why choose me?
Update 3/2: Hi friends!! My name is Sadie. I’m a well mannered lady that loves long walks on the beach. Well…I would but I’m stuck in a shelter right now.
I was found running as a stray, but my owner never came for me 😢 I’ve had a litter of puppies before, but that’s behind me now that I’m spayed! I try really hard to be a good girl. I sit quietly in my kennel waiting to be taken out, but most people tend to walk past me.
Recently, I had two puppies as my neighbors. Even though I sat and wagged my tail eagerly, everyone kept passing me up for the puppies. I know I’m not a baby anymore, but come on! I’m only 3! I know how to sit on command, I walk like a champ on the leash, and I may even be housebroken! I’ve heard a rumor around the shelter that the black dogs are the last to be adopted…that doesn’t seem very fair to me. Shelter volunteers say I’m the perfect mix of energy. I would love to chill with you on the couch but I also love playing. I love when there is a dog in the next pen, so we can run back and forth chasing each other! Did I mention I really, REALLY love toys!? I get excited and do a super cute bunny hop to chase down toys.
Update 2/7:Thanks to a grant from the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s license plate program, Sadie is spayed and up-to-date on her basic vaccinations!
Update 2/6: Sadie sits quietly in her kennel waiting for someone to take her out. She was shy when I first met her, but now she really shines! I’ve learned what a fun, sweet, and amazing dog Sadie really is! She loves chasing toys and tossing them around then runs back to you hoping you’ll throw another. She sits for treats and has been learning to also lie down for them. Best of all, she’s happy to be with you and beams when you praise, pet, and just play with her. She didn’t even mind when I dressed her in a tutu! She looked like a princess, and she is!
Sadie was a little unsure of herself and her surroundings when I first met her in her kennel. She eased up very quickly and was very interested in exploring her environment in the interaction pen. Initially, she was on the fence about whether or not I was a good guy, but after just a few minutes, she approached me and let me pet her for several minutes! She was very sweet once her initial trepidation subsided, and she really seemed to enjoy my company. By the time it was time to say our goodbyes, she didn’t want me to leave and reluctantly returned to her kennel! Overall Sadie is a shy girl with a kind demeanor who would be a great companion!
