50788 – Sky
Why choose me?
Update 1/9: Sky is doing great and is now available for adoption as well as rescue! She loves chasing balls, will sit for treats, and is eager to learn with patience and treats. She’s a sweet, fun girl!
Sky is a beautiful girl who’s frightened being at the pound. Her former owner said she’s never been around people other than her family nor has she met other dogs, so it’s understandable that being at the pound is a totally new world for her. She’s bonded with one of the caretakers and has a favorite volunteer that she’ll go to and sit with on a picnic table, so she’s making progress. Today was the first day that I’d had Sky out. At first, she preferred watching me from a distance, but then I found a toy she liked, and we began to have fun. She’d run up to me and play bow waiting for me to throw the toy. The longer we played, the more Sky opened up, so I’m hoping it won’t be long before she’s ready to sit with me and enjoy pets. Until Sky feels more comfortable with other people, she’s only available to rescues, but watching her with her special volunteer, I can see her potential. She’ll be a wonderful companion once she feels safe. Sky is house trained and was good with the teenager in the home. She’s also been curious about other dogs at the fence and seems to like them. She just needs time to trust.
