Why choose me?

Update 9/19: Tyson finished his heartworm treatment yesterday, and only has one more month of crate rest until he’s ready to find his forever home! (It would be awesome if he had a rescue & foster home in the meantime.) Wish this big hunk well as he recovers!

Update 9/1: Tyson will only be available to rescues while he recovers from his heartworm treatment. Please wish this sweet boy well during his recovery!

I love Tyson, but I was sad to see him back at the pound. I remember the day when Tyson’s former family decided to adopt him. It was actually the young child in the family who made the final choice between Tyson and another dog. He was good with her but didn’t do well with crate rest which is necessary when dogs are treated for heartworms. Unfortunately, Tyson would get out of his crate and chew on things. When Tyson saw me, his face lit up and his tail was wagging. Then, when we entered the interaction pen, he saw my husband and hurried to greet him. They had been buddies, and Tyson had kisses and more tail wags to share. Tyson is a sweetheart! He’s also the same calm dog I remember who’s easy on a leash and happy to be with you. He doesn’t like being in the sun and heat too long, but he’ll gladly join you in the shade ready for lots of scratches, hugs, and pets. He’s house trained, good with kids, already neutered, and up-to-date on his vaccinations. He does, however, need to complete his heartworm treatment. Tyson is a super dog who might do better with someone who’s home most of the time. I hope he finds his perfect match. He’s waiting to be someone’s best friend!
