Why choose me?
Update 7/27: Dana will only be available to rescues for the next month while she recovers from her heartworm treatment. Please wish this sweet girl well during her recovery!
Update 6/25: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Dana has been spayed and brought up-to-date on her basic vaccinations! She’s now available for adoption as well as rescue!
Update 6/18: Unfortunately, Dana has tested positive for heartworms and is only available to rescues until she is spayed.
When I approached Dana’s kennel, she seemed a little shy about coming all the way to the gate. I baby-talked her and got her leash on, and still she wasn’t so sure about what was about to happen and the loud barking from all the other residents didn’t help….
Once we got in the interaction pen, and saw Diamond on the other side of the fence, quietly playing with her toys, she started to warm up a little… and then I squeaked a toy, threw it in the yard, and the sweet little gal seemed to point at it! She held up her left paw, and pointed! I don’t know if this was still some of the nervousness from being new, because she had just arrived, but it was THE CUTEST THING EVER!!!
I didn’t have a whole lot of time to give to her, but she was definitely coming out of her shell quickly, and next time around, I am curious to see how she is.
We walked back to the kennel, and she quietly went in and didn’t make the slightest peep while I got another one of her neighbors out. She is a little skinny, has a few scars, and seemed a little untrusting at first, but after a good but short playdate, I could tell she was a real sweetie!
