49055 – Percy
Why choose me?
Update 4/21: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Percy is now neutered and up-to-date on his basic vaccinations!
Percy is a handsome tabby with a darker more marbled body with tiger strips on his legs. He’s a little shy at the shelter after being surrendered from a hoarding situation with 14 other kitties. Thankfully, he’s healthy and social and ready to be adopted immediately, unlike some of the other cats that came in at the same time. While we know that their caretaker was well-intentioned, it’s just very difficult to manage large numbers of cats in a home like that and have all of the animals be healthy and happy.
When you meet Percy, you’ll notice that he is a bit shy, but take a second and start rubbing his head, cheeks, and back, and you’ll find that he has a serious motor of a purr, and he’ll be purring within just a few seconds of you giving him any kind of attention. Shelter staff and volunteers are working with him to help him adjust to the shelter environment, so we’re sure he’ll get more and more comfortable as he stays with us, but in the meantime, we know he’d love to meet you even though he isn’t going to run up to his kennel door to say hi when you stop by. He’s a sweet cat with a lot of love to give; he just needs a loving home where he can feel safe and confident in himself and his owner(s). Stop by and meet him on your next visit to the shelter!
