Why choose me?

5/4/18 Update:  Birdie is now located at the front of the cat shelter.  We learned that she’s not a big fan of other cats, but she loves people, and will beg you for attention.  Please come meet her, so she can “chirp” for you!

Brrrrrrr! Mrrrrrow! My name is Birdie, because I make some cute chirping noises when people pet me.  I came to the shelter with my little babies, who were immediately rescued — but I needed to see a vet myself.  I’m now spayed, and the vet says that I’m now good to go and find myself a fur-ever home, though you may notice that I favor my right from paw.  It was an old injury that causes my limp, but I’m not in pain.  A bit more about my past – I had previously been living at a local tent city for the homeless. That was great at the time, since I’m very friendly with everyone, and love being petted.  But things just got a little too hard for me with the prospect of raising my kittens outdoors at the tent city, so I’m actually really happy to be at the shelter, where I have a much better chance at finding a home in which to live.  I’m just waiting for you adopt me.   Just in case you’ve forgotten, I’m very affectionate and want lots of loving — so you’ll have no regrets if you’re looking for a happy, outgoing kitty like me!

If you don’t yet see me out front in the main part of the cat shelter, please inquire with shelter staff, and they’ll be glad to introduce us!
