48907 – Nina
Why choose me?
Update 4/17: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Nina has been spayed and brought up to date on her vaccinations!
Update 3/22: Unfortunately, Nina is heartworm positive and only available to rescues until she is spayed.
Nina is my new favorite shelter pup. While she looks sad and pathetic in her photos, give her a minute and she becomes an affectionate and wiggly girl; she will happily climb into your lap, but watch out–you’ll get lots of kisses if she does! She loves stuffed toys and had a great time chasing them and then tossing them in the air. She’s happy to sit for a treat and is eager to please, but then she’s off running and playing again. Her life to date has not been an easy one; she was kept in a pen with another dog or tied out and if you reach for her too quickly or raise your hand suddenly she’ll crouch to the ground and scamper away. But be gentle and let her come to you and she is a lovebug! Nina came in with a swollen eye, likely due to an abscess from when she was caught in the crossfire of the two dogs in the pen with her fighting a month ago, but a trip to Firehall 4 Animal Hospital thanks to our Medical Fund donors means she’s recovering nicely. Nina is a really sweet dog who will blossom if given a chance. Will it be with you?
