48839 – Raquel
Why choose me?
Update 4/17: Raquel has received her shots to treat her heartworms! She will be on crate rest and only available to rescue for the next month while she recovers–please wish her well.
Update 4/3: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Raquel has been spayed and brought up-to-date on her basic vaccinations! She’s now available for adoption as well as rescue!
Update 3/21: When Raquel first arrived at the pound, she was scared and didn’t want to leave her kennel, but with love and support from staff and volunteers, she now enjoys going to an interaction pen. She also LOVES playing fetch! Everest and another volunteer were playing fetch next to us, and Raquel ran along the fence like she wanted to play, too. I tossed a ball for her, and it was magical. She charged after the ball and not only brought it back but hopped up on the picnic table with it and dropped it for me to take and throw again. I know we played more than 10 rounds, and Raquel never failed to run at full speed and bring the ball back. When I needed a break, I joined her on the picnic table, and we sat together enjoying the afternoon. Raquel is a sweet, fun dog. She’s come so far since that first day I met her. I truly hope she finds her own special person or family to love and play many more games of fetch.
Update 3/12: Unfortunately, Raquel has tested positive for heartworms and is only available to rescues until she is spayed.
Raquel is a sweet, shy brown haired beauty. She’s had a bit of rough patch lately as a stray so her coat on her back half needs some work. Raquel is scared of the pound right now, so she may need some time to warm up to you. However, with some bacon treats and soft pets, she’ll crawl right near your lap. Come visit this wonderful girl today!
