48780 – Pebbles
Why choose me?
Update 5/19: Pebbles is a good luck charm for the pups who are her playmates–as soon as we match her with a new one, he gets adopted. Maybe it will soon be Pebbles’s turn; as we get into the slow summer season, being a black dog that’s been at the shelter for months with no interest is not a safe thing to be 🙁
Update 5/18: Pebbles and Midnight have a blast playing together! They can only play together if a staff member is present, but if things are quiet around the shelter while you are visiting, you can ask if it’s a good time for a play date!
Update 5/15: I’m not surprised that Pebbles loves the water! She’s an active girl who likes to run, so jumping in a pool is a great way for her to cool off. She dunks her head, splashes around, and then hops out to run some more. Pebbles also likes to play with stuffed toys, so it wasn’t long before the toys were in the pool with her. What a fun girl!
Update 4/7: Pebbles and Duke are now playmates! They can only play together if a staff member is present, but if things are quiet around the shelter while you are visiting, you can ask if it’s a good time for a play date! They’re great together and have a super time running, wrestling, and playing chase. It’s best not to give them squeaky or stuffed toys though because Duke isn’t one for sharing. Pebbles is fine with that but has lost her playmate because Duke would rather chew on his toy elsewhere. Keep the toys out of it, and watch them have fun!
Update 3/28: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Pebbles has been spayed and brought up-to-date on her basic vaccinations!
Pebbles is a sweet beauty. When she entered the interaction pen, she ran to the fence hoping to find a friend to run and play with. She did her best to try to gain her neighbor’s attention, but that dog was busy with her volunteer. Pebbles then ran to me and was happy that I had treats. She knows how to sit, but if you’re not quick enough with her reward, she’ll lie down to see if that will impress you. I loved watching Pebbles run. It’s too bad she couldn’t find a running buddy today, but maybe that could be you!
