48296 – Sheena
Why choose me?
Update 1/10: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Sheena has been spayed and brought up-to-date on her basic vaccinations!
Update 12/6: Unfortunately, Sheena has degenerative arthritis in her left hip and her hip joint is completely locked, likely from being hit by a car at some point in the past. She needs an FHO; read about this surgery here. While Athenspets can cover the cost of the surgery if performed at Firehall 4 Animal Hospital or contribute towards the cost if performed elsewhere, she needs to recover in a foster home, not the shelter. Thus she needs a rescue and a foster able to care for her during her rehabilitation and until her adoption.
As I was about to leave for the day, I saw a new face looking at me through her kennel gate. When Sheena’s tail started wagging, I knew I had to take her out. She was thrilled and had a great time checking out the interaction pen. June was next to us, and she and Sheena hit it off and began running along the fence together. When they stopped, both girls were good about taking turns for treats. Sheena joined me at the picnic table and liked being scratched behind her ears. She’s a sweet girl, and I later learned that she lives in a household with children and is very good with them. I hope Sheena can be reunited with her family. I bet her best friends are missing her!
