48294 – Wellington
Why choose me?
Update 12/6: Unfortunately, Wellington has tested positive for heartworms and is only available to rescues until he is neutered.
Update 12/1: I’ve gotten to know Wellington over the past few days, and he’s a great dog. He likes to play fetch, but even better, he can be very affectionate. He’ll put his front paws in my lap and lean against me as I pet him. He loves attention and is good about coming to me when I call him. Wellington doesn’t like to be left alone in an interaction pen and will try to jump the fence to be with you. He loves being with people and wants to be someone’s best buddy!
When Wellington first entered the interaction pen, he sniffed around, sat for treats, but seemed rather serious. Then Beauty entered the adjoining pen, and all kinds of silliness spilled out. It was love at first sight, and Wellington only had eyes for Beauty. They met at the fence wagging their tails, and when Beauty ran, Wellington followed. When she picked up a toy, he did as well tossing it around and showing off. Then Beauty left to chew on her toy beneath the picnic table. Wellington did his best to get her attention again but to no avail. Oh well, he decided to play with me, and now I threw the toy for him and rewarded him with more treats. Wellington is a fun dog who can be quite entertaining!
