48218 – Squish
Why choose me?
Update 11/21: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Squish is now neutered and up-to-date on his basic vaccinations! He’s now available for adoption as well as rescue!
Update 11/17: Squish is feeling more comfortable at the pound and wasn’t skittish with me at all today. When I took him to an interaction pen, he only wanted to stay by my side and be petted. He seems to be a really mild-mannered, sweet boy. He’s also easy to walk on a leash. Since he has heartworms, he’s only available to rescues until he is neutered. He can still visit with volunteers and visitors, so please spend some time with Squish. Every day that he’s with people that care about him, helps him feel more secure. You may even see some tail wags!
Squish is a sweet, handsome boy. He stepped forward to meet me at his kennel gate, but once we were in an interaction pen, he was a little skittish. I later learned that his last owners only had him for two weeks and during that time, he was tethered in the backyard, so I don’t think he’s had the greatest life. I found that if I sat on the bench and waited, Squish would come to me and relaxed a bit as I petted him. He also liked Reba in the pen next to us, so I moved a chair to the fence and petted and talked to Squish as Reba stood there enjoying treats that I slipped through the fence. I think Squish wants to trust people, but he needs some time to feel comfortable. Hopefully, he’ll learn that people can be good and kind. He’s a sweet boy who needs a loving forever home.
