48146 – Boscoe
Why choose me?
Boscoe had a rough life before coming to the shelter. He lived under a bush at his house with no security and little kindness. As a result, when he first arrived he didn’t trust people, preferring to hang out in the back of his kennel and grumbling a bit if people came too close. He knew the people he’d previously known weren’t his friends, so why would these new ones be any different? Recognizing that Boscoe wasn’t going to have a chance in an overcrowded shelter, a regular visitor took him home to see if he could fit with her pack. She reports that he was great with her cats and her female dogs (including the little ones) but did seem to be jockeying for position with the male dog. Moreover, he was far more relaxed out of the shelter setting, enjoying his spa day and dinner parties. However, he is not a good fit for a farm–he shouldn’t live with chickens, in particular. Boscoe tested positive for heartworms when he was at the shelter before and while he has been on doxycycline for the past few weeks he still needs to be treated. Because he can be growly and uncomfortable with new people in the shelter setting (especially men), he is only available to rescues. We’re hopeful that there will be one able to help Boscoe make the final transition from scared yard dog to beloved family member!
