48145 – Nike
Why choose me?
Update 11/14: Nike is feeling more comfortable at the pound and has shown us how affectionate and smart he is. Give him pets and love, and he’ll return that with kisses and devotion. He really is a sweet boy who’s happy to give you his undivided attention. He’s also smart and knows how to not only sit but shake and lie down on command. He’s very good at fetch, too. Nike would truly love to be someone’s best friend.
Nike is unsure about being at the pound, and he’s unhappy being in a kennel instead of his home. Being able to run and play in an interaction pen helped, and he had a blast playing with a stuffed ball. I watched as this boy forgot about his worries and tossed the ball in the air time and time again. Once he accidentally threw it over the fence! Nike also sat for treats and liked being petted. The person that brought him to the pound said Nike was good with kids, cats, and female dogs but doesn’t do well with male dogs. He’s also house trained and already neutered. Someone that works in a doggie day care recognized Nike as one of their former clients and said everyone loved him, and he enjoyed cuddling, giving kisses, and playing tug-of-war. While he’s great with people, he needs someone to help him learn how to properly play and behave with other dogs. Hopefully, Nike will become more comfortable at the pound, but what would really make him happy is if he found a new home where he could toss balls, cuddle, and play tug-of-war with his own special person or family!
