Why choose me?

Update 9/7: Danica is doing much better! She’s still a little timid, but today instead of racing around the interaction pen, she stayed by my side. When I sat beneath my umbrella, she sat beside me as close as she could get. When I petted her, she leaned her head against me. Danica is a dear, sweet girl. Show her some love, and she’ll melt into your arms.

Danica is an adorable pup with the cutest ears. She greeted me at her gate and had no problem walking with me to an interaction pen, but once we were there, she must have felt a little overwhelmed and started running. Danica raced and raced around the pen. It wasn’t until she tired that I was able to leash her and take her back to her kennel. As long as she was leashed, Danica was fine being petted, but being new to the pound and scared, she wasn’t ready for the large pens in the back with all the barking coming from the kennels. She just needs some time to feel comfortable in her new environment. Danica is a sweet girl, but while she’s getting used to being at the pound, it might be a good idea to spend time with her in one of the smaller pens in the front and leave her leash on. I’m sure it won’t be long before her fear slips away, and she’s ready to show her true personality.
