Why choose me?

Meet Lupita!  You’ll notice what appears to be a few scratches on her nose… not a big deal now, but the story behind it is pretty crazy.  She arrived at the shelter with a wolf worm in her nose. Wolf worms are fairly rare, but cause a really disgusting hole, out of which emerges a large worm.  Can you imagine that Lupita had one of these buried in her nose?

Luckily, with the help of shelter staff and dedicated local vet resources, the worm was successfully extracted, and she’s now fully healed, recovered, and ready to be adopted.    Lupita was at the vet for over a month, while she was being treated.  We all know that it’s no fun being stuck in the hospital. After all that, this patient girl deserves to be rewarded with a home of her own, where she can stretch her legs and be loved.  For having been confined for so long, Lupita is still incredibly relaxed and patient, as she awaits her furever home.  She’s already spayed, playful, loving and seems to like the cats in the neighboring kennels.  You can be an instant hero in Lupita’s eyes, if you open your home and year heart to her today!
