47496 – Stan
Why choose me?
Update 9/11: Stan has two playmates–he can play with Harold or Sophie! He can only play with one at a time and if a staff member is present but, if things are quiet around the shelter while you are visiting, you can ask if it’s a good time for a play date!
Update 8/25: Stan and Diamond are now playmates! They can only play together if a staff member is present but, if things are quiet around the shelter while you are visiting, you can ask if it’s a good time for a play date!
Update 8/3: Stan has tested NEGATIVE for heartworms!
Update from another volunteer 8/1: Stan was talkative in his run; he’s in a run that’s easy to miss – it’s on the back side of the kennels, at the very end, so he wants to be sure he isn’t overlooked! As soon as I opened his run, he was on his best behavior. In the pen, he wanted to get his business out of the way first. I didn’t get to spend that much time with Stan, but he was very gentle and polite the whole time, and never reacted to the other dogs as we passed by. He certainly seemed people-oriented because he wanted to be right by my side.
Stan is a wonderful buddy who wants to stay by your side. He’ll explore a little and check out other dogs, but his definition of a perfect afternoon is lounging in the shade with a friend. When he entered the interaction pen, the first thing he did was go to the picnic table where my husband was sitting and put his paws in my husband’s lap to greet him. He’s a friendly boy. After pictures, I sat in the shade under my umbrella, and Stan lounged right beside me. When I got up, he followed, and when I returned to my chair, he was there beside me. Stan will sit for treats and loves being petted. He’s super sweet, good-natured, and already neutered. If you’re looking for a new best friend, Stan is your man–or rather dog!
