47451 – Beauty
Why choose me?
Update 9/11: Beauty is now playmates with both Harold and Honor (though the boys haven’t met each other)! They can only play together if a staff member is present but, if things are quiet around the shelter while you are visiting, you can ask if it’s a good time for a play date!
Update 8/7: Beauty is such an ideal family dog (regardless of family type), it’s a mystery to me why she’s still here. She is always in a happy, loving mood, and you are guaranteed kisses and entertainment when you are with her. Beauty loves balls above everything – she had to do some deep thinking about whether to drop her ball for a piece of hot dog. (The hot dog eventually won out.) Although she’s a passionate ball dog she isn’t at all possessive with them – she’ll easily let you take it out of her mouth, but she will look expectantly for you to throw it again. Beauty is a volunteer favorite around here!
Update 7/26: Beauty and Nelson are now buddies and like hanging out together!
Update 7/20: I love spending time with Beauty! She’s super sweet and lots of fun. While we were in an interaction pen, she picked up a tennis ball and began to run with it. I wondered if she knew how to play fetch and quickly learned she’s a master of fetch. She’s so good that I could sit in my chair under my umbrella and never leave the shade because she’d bring it to me every time. After many rounds, I had her take a break, and she sat beside me enjoying pets and praise. Beauty is a sweetheart and will be a loving and fun companion for whoever adopts her.
Update 7/14: Thanks to donations to the Spay/Neuter Fund, Beauty has been spayed and brought up-to-date on her basic vaccinations! She has also tested NEGATIVE for heartworms!
For a girl with a wishbone on her nose, Beauty hasn’t had much luck in the last few days. Although she is only one year old, she’s already had a litter of pups, and now here she is looking for another family. The good news is that she is wonderful girl, who got a great report card from her former family. They said that she has lived as an indoor, housebroken dog, and doesn’t chew, dig or jump fences when she’s outside. It’s no surprise for us to hear that she is also good with kids and good with other dogs – she’s lived with two small dogs and two big dogs, one of whom, Lil Man, is also at the shelter. When we took Beauty out for pictures and a movie, we became big fans right away. She’s a happy, affectionate girl who just wanted to have fun and give kisses. What a sweet and happy pup!
