Why choose me?

Update 10/8/17 – Elm has been adopted! Now it’s just Poplar & Maple who are waiting for their forever homes. But since they’re already spayed and ready to go home with you immediately, our hope is that they won’t be here too much longer!

Update 9/25/17: Elm, Poplar, & Maple are now spayed and up-to-date on their vaccinations thanks to the Athenspets Spay/Neuter Fund! They’re great kittens who’ve really only been here so long because they were stuck in the back getting treated for ringworm for such a long time. They’re now healthy and happy and ready to go home with you either together or separately. Won’t you come see if one of them could be your next best friend?

Update 9/16/2017: The Tree Litter is completely healthy and available for adoption again! Check out their new photos!  We spent some time in the interaction room together the other day.  These three are really a hoot! They love to run, jump, chase, and play. There’s never a dull moment.  The only thing dull for them is still being cooped up in a shelter kennel.  We hope you’ll stop by the shelter and consider adopting on or more of these sweet kittens today!

Update 7/21/17: If you stop by the shelter to see these kitties, they’re not available at the moment. One of them got a very minor case of ringworm, but since they’ve all been living together, they all have to be treated. The treatment takes a while, so unfortunately, it will be a few weeks at least before they will be ready again for adoption. But you could definitely submit an application on one or more of them to adopt them once their treatment is finished. Feel free to call the shelter to ask for updates and to see if it’s possible to view them as they continue their treatment.

Update 7/10/17: Check out Poplar’s new photo (she’s the one on the main page); isn’t she beautiful? If you stop by the shelter, you’ll notice that these two have finally been joined by their other siblings – Elm & Hickory – who are now old enough to be adopted as well. Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these kittens! They’ve spent virtually all of their lives in the shelter at this point, and we’d love for them to get a chance to know what a real life in a loving home is like!

Update 6/22/17: Oak has been adopted, and his siblings (who still aren’t quite 2 lbs) are in the back. But they should all be up front soon!

These adorable kittens have been at the shelter for a while because they came in as tiny tots when they were three weeks old with their mom, Willow. They have two other siblings who are still too young to be adopted and are in the back with mom, but they should be available for adoption soon too. Oak is by far the most outgoing kitten, which is why his pictures tend to be a little blurry. He’s just so excited when he has visitors and he wants nothing other than to be on you! I had to include the one picture of him that’s only half his face because that was his “I’m getting ready to jump out of my kennel and onto your shoulder” look. If you’re looking for an energetic and playful kitten, you couldn’t do any better than sweet Oak!

Poplar and Maple are still a little shy, and I’m sure part of that is being separated from mom and their other siblings for the first time. They’re very sweet though, and they’ll just need a little more time to get used to new visitors and life in their own kennel. It’s got to be a little intimidating to be out front with all of the visitors, staff and other animals for the first time when you’re still so small! Kitten season is definitely in full swing, so please come give one or more of these great kittens a home (2 is better than one!).
